"A truly phenomenal creative force" - BBC Radio Kent

Janie Price, aka BIRD, is an award-winning half-British, half-Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based between London and Tuscany. Classically trained on cello from age six and a drummer from eleven, she began her professional career at eighteen as a session musician, playing for the likes of Emeli Sandé, Vanessa Mae, Roachford and Just Jack. As a songwriter she has sung and co-written on two No.1 charting Hooverphonic albums, including the hits “In Wonderland” and “I Like The Way I Dance”, wrote the Swiss Eurovision national-final entry “Secrets and Lies” for Chiara Dubey and the English version of San Remo-winning Il Volo’s “Capolavoro”, and has collaborated with John Paul White (The Civil Wars), Andy Dunlop (Travis), James Dean Bradfield (Manic Street Preachers), Hal Lindes (Dire Straits) and Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan), among others.

Her filmmaking is award-winning too: her first short took nine festival awards, including Best Drama at the Aviva Performance Awards and the Global Music Silver Medal. Following two acclaimed EPs, her latest album Held Here Together has drawn praise on both sides of the Atlantic and radio support from BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing and beyond, with a new album Welcome To The Show, produced by Mike Hedges, on the way. Her second short, a documentary, “You Found a Friend in Elvis”, is screening at festivals worldwide and is also award-nominated. Throughout 2026 and 2027 she continues to tour across the UK, Europe and North America, having successfully completed tours with Ward Thomas and The Wandering Hearts and showcases at the prestigious AmericanaFest Nashville and Folk Alliance New Orleans.

Selected Quotes & Acclain

“Bird’s storytelling captures the full gamut of duality, vulnerability, and resilience. The final two tracks offer up alternative versions of the old Smiths’ classic ‘How Soon Is Now’, showing the diversity of Birds’ influences, however itis her own material that stands out here, in particular the a forementioned ‘Roy’, which is without doubt one of the best songs of 2025 so far." AMERICANA UK

“Beautifully written, masterfully arranged, and delivered with poetic finesse, ‘Sunny Days’ is a standout release from a singular artist. Utterly gorgeous.” RECORD OF THE DAY

"Bird's "Daddy" is not mere melody; it is an excavation, a sonic archaeology of the human heart, laid bare with a vulnerability that is both breathtaking and profoundly moving. In a world saturated with fleeting trends and manufactured emotions, Bird offers something truly rare: authenticity. And in "Daddy," she delivers it with a power that is both undeniable and unforgettable. This release, and the upcoming EP, are set to be milestones in an already impressive career"- Jamsphere
